ABOUT YOU:
You're a bit of a generalist and an excellent problem solver. You’re a self starter and a quick learner. You may or may not be new to the game but you’re skilled at managing your own time and tasks. You’re more invested in process and practice than you are in perfection. You’re detail oriented but capable of zooming out to understand how the details fit into the system. You’re a design sleuth looking for answers to the “why” questions. You’re comfortable learning from mistakes and moving on. You’re a good communicator who frequently brings ideas to the table. Your focus is squarely on the success of the humans using the products that you’re designing and not the success of your own ideas. You’re collaborative by nature and are looking to be a part of a team. You have a portfolio of work demonstrating your user-centered designs, your process (flows, prototypes, wireframes), and visual designs (mockups, mood boards, style guides) across desktop and mobile devices.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years of experience in product design or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in human factors, a related design field, or comparable design experience
- Strong attention to detail and eye for consistency
- Proactive, independent working style
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Familiarity with and interest in qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies as well as data-driven content/design
- Working knowledge of responsive design and grid principles
- Strong typography, layout, and visual design skills
- Working knowledge of industry tools: Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Experience with mobile first and app design
- Working knowledge of the ideation and creation of UI design deliverables: user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity dev-ready mockups, prototypes for mobile, tablet, and web products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help develop and maintain our design system
- Create user-centered designs and prototypes for multiple interfaces serving different audiences
- Identify usability issues in our interface
- Apply design-research methods and deliver informed recommendations for projects based on your research findings
- Create and maintain iconography and graphics
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering, and other partners to better understand customer needs and pain points and to verify that your designs are solving the right problems
- Perform user-based research throughout the design process
- Partner with other team members to plan, execute and analyze research
- Analyze and improve user flows
- Perform user acceptance testing for implemented designs.
