About You
We have found great success with social media team members who have the following characteristics:
Inquisitive – Our clients tend to be manufacturing or other industrial-focused companies. We don’t expect you to come into the position knowing a lot about that world. Or anything about that world. However, since technical marketing is information-rich instead of surface-level fluff, it’s critical to constantly be learning and asking questions to improve your knowledge and writing – getting yourself to think the way our audiences do.
Adaptable – You will have several clients, so it’s valuable to be able to change your tone and style based on the tastes of clients and the specific content being created. For example, your voice on a white paper for one client will sound very different than a video script for another.
Ability to Meet Deadlines – Projects are often dependent on content to move forward, so it’s critical that you meet deadlines and keep projects moving.
Multi-Tasker – We are always juggling several projects at once, so you’ll need to effectively manage several tasks and use your time wisely.
Job Duties:
Social Media – Yes, industrial manufacturing companies are on social media, too. Well, some of them. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of social media strategy, content development and its implementation across digital and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Strategy – This position provides strategic guidance on client social media initiatives, reviews campaign-based analytics and leads the external marketing efforts of the DeanHouston brand.
Copywriting – You’ll have the opportunity to write a wide range of pieces, including blogs, e-blasts, print and remarketing ads, video scripts, etc. The topics may not initially appear exciting to most people, but our audiences take it seriously and it’s your job to create clear, memorable copy that helps your clients stand out – instead of relying on tired buzzword phrases like “innovative solutions for your unique business needs.”
Copy Editing – Not only will you need to notice even the smallest typos in your teammates’ work, but you must be willing to suggest edits that punch up their copy before it’s sent to the client. Don’t be timid.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in social media, journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or related field
- 8 years of social media experience
- Successful experience in successful content marketing creation
- Successful experience in creative storytelling
- Excellent skills with all social media platforms and Microsoft applications
- Experience with social media analytic platforms (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.) is a must
- 3 years of agency experience required
Please note, for the health and safety of our team members, the COVID-19 vaccine is required.
