What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel/Daycare Attendant position at Decatur Animal Care?
Decatur Animal Care is looking for a part time kennel technician. Job duties include, but are not limited to: walking, feeding and cleaning up after animals. Disinfecting and scrubbing runs/cages, bathing animals, nail trims, and administering medications. A kennel technician will need to be able to handle and interact with larger dogs and cats, regularly stand for long periods of time, frequently walk, kneel, crouch and lift or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires physical strength and stamina. The kennel technician will also need to supervise and interact with group playtime and give individual attention to dogs and cats. You must be able to recognize dog behaviors and have basic knowledge of how to handle certain situations. You will be running, jumping and playing with animals of all sizes and temperaments. Assisting the doctor and veterinarian technicians with restraint and treatment of animals will also be part of the job duties. Training will be provided as needed. Part time includes week days, weekends and holidays. Employees work as a team. Reliable transportation is a must. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). 5 star customer service. Days/Times needed are:
Monday thru Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, depending on schedule
Every other Saturday 7am-9ish am and then return from 3pm-5pm
Every other Sunday 7am-9ish am and return at 3pm-5pm

Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
