POSITION SUMMARY – Safely perform laser cutting for a variety of organizational manufacturing needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred; Training in safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage, and quality system awareness preferred
Experience: Minimum of one-year manufacturing experience preferred; Ability to be trained on the job
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy
Certificates & Licenses: Must pass and maintain written and driving test for forklift certification

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Program the laser machine
- Perform typical laser cutting operations
- Select proper cutting programs and proper fixtures
- Establish proper stop location and adjust laser beam focal point
- Make proper set-ups for cutting operations
- Perform prescribed maintenance as required
- Perform all dimensional inspections
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Work at different workstations as production needs require
- Read blueprints
- Load programs
- Use and understand gaging
- Produce paperwork for parts ran
- Sand and deburr parts
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
- Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings
- Ability to program and set up laser machines
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
- Ability to use hand tools to measure parts made
- Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack
- Ability to troubleshoot laser problems
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
