Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for reviewing the medical record for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy against the requirements of regulatory bodies, upon patient discharge. Identify whether all required documentation is present and that all entries have been authenticated before the record is filed as complete. Assign identified deficiencies to the responsible provider(s) for timely complete. Perform re-analysis, to ensure the deficiencies were taken off by the assigned provider and that assigned deficiencies are accurate. This position reports to the Director of HIM.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
Education:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: BS degree or AHIMA Independent Study program.
Experience:
- Required: 1-2 years experience an an office environment.
- Required: Previous experience in medical record analysis or an HIM department.
- Required: Previous computer experience.
- Familiar with all regulatory guidelines.
