What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Accountant position at Default Brand?
- Gather all payroll changes per entity before payroll run such as increase / termination, deduction, or any other payroll related changes etc.
- Input Intern timesheets for semimonthly US & CAD payroll (We have about 20-30 Interns)
- Update 401k rate changes for the U.S. and update any new 401K loan for each payroll if any.
- Download U.K. pension report for HR on a monthly basis after TMF UK finalized the report.
- Respond emails regarding pay slips/logins etc. Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.
- HR collaboration on New Joiner/Exit process all forms and communications. Process all new joiner forms and leavers forms.
- Consolidate the payroll input file to TMF for payroll processing and review once draft is done. Prepare Payroll funding once all the information is accurate.
- Activate banking, updated WHT, MCTMT, residential and FICA taxes for new joiners before starting the payroll to have all accurate information for pay slip.
- Assist with month end payroll recon and JE posting (Ireland, APAC, U.S, UK, France, Italy, and GmbH) to make sure the allocation ties out to the payroll funding and justify the balance on the balance sheet accounts.
- Assist Accounts Payable Manager with Consultant funding and payment setup.
- Assist with year-end international tax filing & review

- HK- IR56B due 5/31
- HK- Housing Allowance calculation due 4/30.
- UK- P11 D (medical & phone expense file due 5/31 to TMF for HMRC filing)
- Canada – T4 YE tax due 2/8
- US YE W2 process due 1st week of January.
- Prepare annual report that capture earnings / taxes for each entity for internal use.
- Coordinate with our auditors on our global annual audits.
- Tax research and business registrations for WHT & SUI for new locations in the US.
- Update and keep track of the Annual Kickoff awards (watches & trips) / Internal Awards that need to be grossed up by YE for tax purposes.

- Good organizational skills and an ability to work to deadlines.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain high confidentiality on payroll record.
- Accounting/Business College degree
- Experience with UKG & ADP
- Experience with NetSuite
- Experience with Journal Entries
