Job Summary:
According to the guidelines of Radiology Diagnostic Protocol and under the direction of a Radiologist/Physician and Supervisor, Diagnostics, performs radiographic procedures as ordered by physician and processes images for use in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications:
Licensure: N/A
Experience: None is required.
Education: Successful completion of a radiological diagnostic education from an accredited program.
Registration/Certification:
Current licensure with registration (or eligible for completion within year of employment) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current Indiana State Board of Health General Certificate for Radiographers. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required within six months of employment.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
- Requires thorough working knowledge of radiological diagnostic procedures and equipment utilized with general knowledge of regulations impacting the delivery of diagnostic services.
- Requires general working knowledge of the normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including child, adolescent, aging adult) and diagnosis of patient served to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Requires analytical skills in order to conduct appropriate testing, interpret validity and quality of diagnostic service performed.
- Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers as needed.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
