The Extraction Technician will be responsible for operating multiple forms of extraction and processing equipment within the Etain manufacturing facility
in Chestertown, NY. The extraction technician may also participate in packaging the oil for sale in a number of devices. This role involves repetitive tasks, but requires an individual who can problem solve and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently.

Essential Functions:
Extraction Technician tasks include, but are not limited to the following list. You may be asked to perform any or all of these tasks on a given day while maintaining compliance with the relevant regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Extract plant material through ethanol and CO2 extraction
Process plant extract through a variety of purification and refinement steps
Participate in Research and Development activities designed to improve yield and production
Maintain Batch Manufacturing Records as required by Good Manufacturing Practices, Etain LLC, and NYS regulations
Perform preventative and restoration maintenance on all extraction, and some production equipment
Participate packaging activities such as filling vaporizers, producing lozenges, applying labels and boxing extracted products.
Dispose of waste in accordance with the New York State Regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices
Follow the Etain LLC guidelines for sanitary practices regarding hand washing, and the use of PPE such as protective lenses, suits, gloves, shoe covers, scrubs, and work shoes, and face masks.
Participate in cleaning all manufacturing areas including the extraction rooms, the manufacturing rooms, and the laboratory.
Participate in training sessions designed to either improve your skills or your understanding of Etain LLC and the New York State Regulations.
Work cohesively with team members to achieve department objectives.
Competencies:
Ability to perform repetitive actions with a high level of accuracy over time
Ability to use a computer and to learn new programs for accurate record keeping
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for 8 hours
Mechanical knowledge and skill required for troubleshooting various devices
Preferred Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
5 years’ experience in mechanical settings such as car or tractor repair.
Equivalent level of education, training, and experience
Work Environment:
This is a manual labor position which requires heavy lifting. An individual in this role will work both independently and as part of a team, depending on the production requirements. This position operates within a factory/manufacturing setting which can have both high and low temperatures. Importantly, all members of the Etain staff must wear PPE including Tyvek suits, scrubs, boot covers, protective eyewear, hair and beard nets, gloves, and face masks.
Travel:
Travel is not required as a part of this position, however online education will be offered to assist in employee development and advancement. Occasionally, this position may require travel to conferences for education and enrichment.
