HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
This position is responsible for all aspects of supplier management, principally within assigned branches, spend categories and capital purchases. Under the principles of a lean enterprise, manages the requisition system to service customers direct, indirect and MRO (manufacturing) material needs. Additionally, the role requires excellent critical thinking and organizational skills to stay abreast of organizational material needs.
You will help the operations of our growing company by:
- Draft, review, and approve purchase orders for assigned locations.
- Manage short term and long-term material demand.
- Utilize knowledge of Inventory, Distribution, Transportation, and financial concepts to support purchasing functions.
- Participate in the cost reduction initiatives to identify savings within the supply chain.
- Work cross functionally to manage inventory levels to ensure continuity of supply to Dejana.
- Resolve issues with material receipts, invoices, quality issues, and returns as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and utilize problem solving skills to identify and eliminate supplier deficiencies and reduce cost.
- Consistently conduct business in an ethical and professional manner when interacting with internal personnel, suppliers, distributors, and customers. Follow the DD Code of Conduct and report any violations to your manager.
- Participate with teams as assigned to identify improvement opportunities in processes, systems, and procedures.
- Follow Company policies and procedures, including use of PPE.
- Provide exceptional internal and external customer service.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:
- A minimum of a two-year college degree in procurement, supply chain management, industrial management, business administration or equivalent.
- A completed internship or equivalent training in a previous procurement environment.
- Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office Suite and/or Office 365.
- Supply chain, inventory management and/or purchasing experience preferred.
- Experience in Van / truck up-fitting or manufacturing preferred.
- No purchasing/supply chain experience needed for current Dejana employees with knowledge of Spokane/FACS.
