Lead Software Engineer

DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer. In this role, you will drive software development teams to deliver highly innovative and life-changing products. You will lead by example and have responsibility for highly complex, technical embedded software projects interfacing to a diverse group of engineering talent. You will be working hands-on with teams across DEKA to build, design and ship projects that have a positive, enduring impact on millions of people worldwide. 

How you will make an impact:

• Lead a technical team through the complete development cycle to invent, design, develop, test and release
• Provide both high-level technical and people leadership to project teams
• Drive delivery of aggressive goals managing project schedule and resources effectively.
• Interface with customers and manage relationships to ensure crisp communication and alignment of objectives
• Drive day-to-day project activity to achieve results, including solving technical and other project challenges, managing resource conflicts, achieving quality objectives, upholding high-performance standards, and meeting commitments

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science 
• 5  years progressively-responsible experience in software development using C/C
• 2 years leading product development teams of more than 5 people. Experience should include leading software teams from initial concept through design and release, tracking development vs. requirements, planning development efforts and interfacing between development and code test teams
• Must have experience with:
  • Electromechanical products with embedded software
  • Embedded Linux
  • DevSecOps
  • Ethernet TCP/IP
  • Generating requirements and formal tracking of requirements
  • Software FMEA
• Strong problem solving and debugging skills
• Ability to meaningfully participate in design and code reviews
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must be able to excel in a multi-disciplined group environment
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
