Title: Unit Manager, Business Systems
Under general supervision, ensures the maintenance and support of the district’s enterprise business systems; provides support to end-users, and maintains monitoring systems that alert to potential business function outages and failures in the DeKalb County School System (DCSD).
Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative ofthis position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Maintains the development, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise business applications that support the district’s strategic goals. This includes, but is not limited to, support for major systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning System, Student Information System, Learning Management System, Student, and Parent Portal systems, that ensure all applications, systems, and hardware are online and operational.
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employee concerns and problems; directs work; provides guidance on policies, procedures & work method; leads staff meetings.
- Facilitates and participates in meetings with/between users, vendors, outside agencies, and IT staff to determine application requirements based on project priorities, changes, and/or system needs.
- Works on specials projects which include new technical initiatives; works on internal projects to improve processes and create efficiencies within the department.
- Ensures that application integration and support work follows best practices, internal standards, policies, and is developed pragmatically.
- Evaluates current tools, as well as processes, to constantly improve maintenance and systems availability, and develop the required documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Computer Science, or closely related field from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university required.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory-level systems support for ERP and Business Systems, or closely related experience required.
- ITIL certification preferred.
