POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of duties for the cleaning and maintenance of KPC facilities. Assists in the receiving, distribution and accounting of clean linen and wearing apparel.
Essential (Primary) Functions:
The primary responsibility of the Housekeeping Aide is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include keeping office buildings, hospitals and educational facilities in clean, orderly condition. In order to fulfill these responsibilities, Housekeeping Aides clean offices, patients' or guestrooms, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require attention. The Housekeeping Aides’ cleaning includes light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets. The Housekeeping Aide may replenish supplies (drinking glasses, writing supplies), move furniture, hang draperies, set-up tables and chairs in auditoriums or halls, push/pull a cleaning cart, move supplies and equipment, carry buckets, operate equipment such as a vacuum cleaner and telephone, maintain tools/equipment and wear protective clothing as required by the work environment or government regulations. The Housekeeping Aide may also train and coordinate activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premises. The supervisor may assign other duties as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities in qualifying. A typical way would be:

Experience/Requirements:
On‑the‑job training, preferred knowledge of basic cleaning skills
OR BY LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE AS FOLLOWS:
· No previous experience required
· Must meet state labor laws if operating equipment
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Absentee replacement of short notice
Exposure to infections and contagious diseases
Regular exposure to the risk of blood borne pathogens
Hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and wastes
Hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment
Housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
8 Hours, Full Time, Evening (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
