The OpportunityThe Accounting Specialist assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and completion of the general ledger close process for the property.
Provide management with financial analysis of operation.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers
Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, analyze and interpret variances.
Assist with month and year end financial audits.
Assist in the accounting process including month-end close journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial statement reviews
Prepare and analyze monthly bank and account reconciliation.
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly sales/revenue accounting records.
Prepare and monitor expenditures to assure compliance and budget.
Maintain required records, reports and files in an organized manner.
Assist in performance financial and operational analysis with the goal of improving efficiency of operations.
Operation of Racing Perfecta system.
Track and maintain accurate accounting aging record of Racing receivables and payables.
Perform analysis of Gaming Operations as well as support operations.
Assist in the development of analysis for the annual plan process.
Act as a liaison with various state and government regulatory and tax agencies.
Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure smooth and compliant operation.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
1-2years Accounting/Financial Analysis or equivalent
Fundamental knowledge of Excel and analytic tools
Problem solving skills, ability to analyze data and to do a high volume of accurate work
Proficient with computer applications
Strong communication and strategic thinking skills
Ability to work cooperatively with other departments
