POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Pipeliner is responsible for supporting day to day construction, maintenance, and operations activities on the pipelines and facilities located in their district. The Pipeliner will work with technical personnel and the Pipeline Maintenance Supervisor to ensure their work is planned and carried out to keep the system operating in a safe, cost-efficient manner
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist mowing crew to clean and maintain right-of-ways
- Become familiar with pipelines, block valve locations, stations, and other assets
- Assist with pipeline repairs, construction activities, and various maintenance items
- Assist with leak clean-up and remediation when necessary
- Support pipeline cleaning and pigging activities
- Become familiar with other pipeline roles to provide occasional back-up
- Complete training as required including DOT Operator Qualification and OSHA safety
- Works effectively without supervision
- Communicates well with employees from all areas of the facility
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Effective communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written plans with attention to detail
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and perform work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of computers and able to use email and Microsoft Office suite
- Must be willing to work overtime and occasional overnight travel may be required
- Able to work assigned shift schedule, holidays and overtime and available to be on-call
- Ability to complete and pass O.Q. training and promote safe work in all environments
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Class A CDL
