Parts Counterperson
Job Summary:
The Parts Counterperson at DELLA Auto Group is a vital role within our organization, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of parts orders and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. As a Full Time - hourly Technician / Skilled Labor / Contractor, this individual will play a key role in supporting our service center and sales teams by maintaining an efficient and well-stocked parts inventory. This position will be located in Queensbury, New York and will report directly to the Parts Manager.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a Full Time - hourly position, paid on a weekly basis. In addition, our team members enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement options.
Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone in a prompt and friendly manner
• Listen to and understand customer needs to accurately identify and locate required parts
• Utilize computerized inventory system to ensure the availability of parts and place orders as needed
• Collaborate with service technicians to determine the correct parts needed for repairs
• Maintain accurate records of parts orders and sales, including tracking back-ordered and special order items
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock is on hand to meet customer demand
• Process returns and exchanges following company policies and procedures
• Keep parts department and work area clean and organized
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager
Qualifications
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous parts counter experience preferred, but not required
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information from manuals and electronic sources
• Basic knowledge of automotive parts and procedures
• Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
