Job Summary
Delta Apparel is seeking a Director of Manufacturing & Engineering to join our team. The Director will be responsible for R&M budget management and forecasting, SOP development, change management, cost savings and lead point of contact with our equipment vendors.
Essential Job Functions
- Parts order advanced troubleshooting, upgrade management
- Lead point of contact internally for advanced troubleshooting.
- Daily reconciliation and approval of parts requests from all facilities.
- Analysis and forecast of R&M spend based on historical trends and forecasted preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Sourcing of parts at lowest cost provider.
- SOP development, change management, and adherence for all maintenance activities and operation of each platform.
- Coordination with the OEM of each equipment set to ensure Delta SOPs are continually updated.
- Coordination with facilities (maintenance and operations) to ensure compliance and or feedback on change requests for SOPs.
- Periodic and scheduled testing or recipes at each location to “qualify” equipment lines based on print quality and color matching.
- Coordination with the art and tech teams to ensure all color management and standards are maintained on the equipment.
- Cost savings on ink reduction.
- Analysis and corrective action plan to reduce ink/fixation costs across the fleet.
- Coordination on defect trend analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action plan development and implementation.
- Analysis of defect trends to ensure issues are proactively identified and solved.
- Coordination with tech, art, and maintenance teams to reduce defects based off trend analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- 5 years experience in the printing or apparel industry, direct to garment printing preferred.
- Extensive maintenance and/or engineering background with a focus on developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- PMP Certification preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Certified preferred
- Previous leadership roles of progressive responsibility
- Experience with automated, web based, production control systems utilizing .sql database structure and customizable GUIs.

Salary : $48,800 - $61,800
