DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment to maximize student learning in both the face-to-face and online classroom.
  • Focus on supporting and assessing student learning and academic achievement to promote student success.
  • Actively support student retention initiatives that promote program completion.
  • Develop innovative, dynamic, inclusive, and engaging learning environments that support student learning and success.
  • Collaborate voluntarily and enthusiastically with colleagues in the academic discipline and with other faculty colleagues to develop effective learning experiences for a diverse student body.
  • Serve the community through outreach activities.
  • Commit to ongoing educational and professional growth.
  • Engage fully in course, discipline, program development, curriculum development and assessment.
  • Attend and actively participate in discipline, division, and college meetings.
  • Engage learning management systems to deliver course material.
  • Demonstrate teaching effectiveness which supports student learning and encompasses pedagogies for student success to meet course and/or program requirements.
  • Maintain professional development to assure currency within field of practice.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and spring/summer.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Communication or in related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Communication
  • We are particularly interested in candidates whose graduate research and/or coursework relates to issues of race, gender, marginalized groups, and equity
