The Risk Analyst will continually identify needs, produce, and analyze reports as well as account data to detect and reduce losses at Delta Community. The analyst will have a primary focus on ATM cards, credit and debit cards, and Account to Account (A2A) transfer fraud. The Risk Analyst will identify ways to maximize authorization approval rates and the member experience while minimizing fraud losses associated with payment channels. They will evaluate individual losses and product revenue for the Operations Risk department. They will collaborate with Card Services, Payment Services, CRM Strategy, Deposit Services, IT, Audit/Loss Prevention, and various business partners in recommending adjustments to existing risk control transaction parameters.

The Risk Analyst will serve as liaison between departments, project management, research and analysis, as well as Information Technology to review the risks of existing and new business products. They will analyze credit union losses, perform risk assessments and provide monthly reporting that will include recommendations to leadership that will assist in making effective business decisions.

Essential Functions:
  • Identify fraud, produce and analyze reports, and review account data to detect and reduce losses
  • Evaluate individual losses and product revenue for the Operations Risk departments while reviewing ATM, debit and credit card transactions, and A2A.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize authorization approval rates and without impacting member experience while minimizing fraud losses
  • Collaborate with Card Services, Payment Services, CRM Strategy, Deposit Services, IT, Audit/Loss Prevention and business partners in recommending adjustments to existing risk control transaction parameters
  • Partner with various business units to review the risks of existing and new business products
  • Analyze credit union losses, perform risk assessments and provide monthly reporting that will include recommendations to leadership that will assist in making effective business
  • Communicate regularly with all levels of organization, service providers and industry peers such as Visa in establishing credit union risk strategy
  • Use discretion while handling confidential information
  • Must be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities
  • Initiate and complete annual goals

Job Qualifications


Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study
  • 3 years’ analytical experience
  • Planning, analytical research, and financial/operational model design experience
  • Possess strong technical, mathematical and organizational skills
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables, and data analytics
  • Strong decision-making and administrative skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Overall knowledge of credit union industry
  • Detailed oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Business or related field of study
  • 5 years’ experience in fraud analysis and fraud prevention strategy related to credit and debit cards
  • Current knowledge of Delta Community Credit Union policies, procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of Symitar and Visa risk tools
