JOB DESCRIPTION
This job is responsible for independently performing critical, high-level actuarial analysis including (but not limited to) forecasting, reserving, fee development, regulatory requirements and financial reporting. The job actively supports all internal and external customers to explain and support analyses and methodologies. Additionally, it identifies opportunities to improve tools, systems or processes and makes recommendations to Actuarial leadership. May involve specialization in one or more key areas of the actuarial practice. Expected to help staff training in one on one or small group format and/or through process documentation improvements. Someone in this job has experience performing the largest, most complex analyses, and is expected to work independently with minimal oversight.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs comprehensive analysis ranging from client-specific to global (book of business) using experience from the largest, most complex datasets.
Provides review of analyses developed by Actuarial Analysts and Senior Actuarial Analysts.
Provides support to fellow actuarial team members through peer review process.
Resolves escalated or complex issues or problems.
Prepares and presents documents to support analysis to internal and external customers.
Continuously improves tools, systems or processes within Actuarial's domain.
Educates team on changes to internal guidelines, regulatory and legal landscape
Contributes to staff training through process documentation improvements and/or in one on one or small group format.
Advises and provides guidance on actuarial reporting to internal and external customers.

7 w/Bachelor's degree

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Advanced communication skills, written and verbal, are required.
Knowledge of actuarial concepts, practices and procedures is required.
Advanced knowledge of statistics and statistical applications is required.
Knowledge of database design, structure and tools is required.
Strong organization, time and project management skills and multi-tasking capabilities are required.
Candidate must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently with little or no oversight is required.
Actuarial accreditation (i.e., ASA or FSA) preferred but not required
