The role:
The Contract Strategist will facilitate department success with a broad range of strategic responsibilities within the contract management discipline. Responsibilities include providing pricing, policy, contract language and business best practices guidance and/or recommendations to business leadership. This role will leverage influence, analytical and critical thinking skills to benefit the organization through optimization of check and marketing solutions and other services revenue and risk mitigation.
- Strategize, negotiate client contracts and work cross functionally to ensure operation and legal compliance
- Manage contract strategy, including standard contract templates, exception and escalation processes, redlining, pricing, and best practices. Evaluate precedent setting issues and provide recommendations to leadership based on business objectives, long term impact, and marketplace conditions
- Identify, research, and understand emerging trends in the marketplace. Present findings to senior sales, product management, marketing, and finance leaders, as well as legal, when appropriate
- Drive contract terms and conditions that reflect the business objectives and marketing strategies
- Participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Identify and track nonstandard RFP requests with marketing and coordinate the vetting of non-standard terms internally with key stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years relevant experience
- Expertise in contract negotiation and contract management
- Familiar with supplier relationships and/or business to business relationships and contract processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or legal
- JD preferred
- 5 years of relevant experience
