Reporting to the Director of Website and Tech Stack with minimal supervision to accomplish assigned objectives, the Lead Wordpress and PHP Developer will be responsible for working with our Marketing team in owning and maintaining our suite of corporate websites in Wordpress.
Employees are required to be present at the approved work location in order to perform the functions of this position.
Essential Job Functions "What You'll Do":
- Develop and maintain Wordpress based website under the leadership of our Marketing Department on a continual basis
- Convert web designs provided by our creative team into fully coded and functional websites via custom themes developed in WordPress; familiarity with Gutenberg and ACF Blocks preferred
- Integrate plugins, modules or frameworks to enhance site functionality based on Company needs
- Enhance website interactivity via animations, transitions and micro-interactions using various techniques and libraries
- Understand functional requirements
- Implement new application features
- Train clients on updating and maintaining websites
- Create scripts for cron jobs used in offline processing
- Create and maintain a proper Github Workflow
- Collaborate with outside agencies and internal front-end developers
- Perform maintenance on Company websites including backups, updates and feature addition requests
Essential Qualifications "What You'll Need":
- Experience with Wordpress administration, Wordpress plugin management and Wordpress development particularly with creating lean, performant custom templates
- Thorough expertise and hands-on experience with coding languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and PHP, with the ability to manipulate external APIs
- Must have a thorough understanding of common workflows and best practices for maintaining version control using Git
- Extensive knowledge in responsive web development across all screen devices
- Experience in debugging issues related to site performance, functionality and browser compatibility
- Working knowledge of – and strong interest in – learning current web development best practices
- Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO)
- Experience and knowledge of Open Graph and social working APIs
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to respond confidently in an appropriate and professional manner
- Collaborative with an ability to work within a global team environment including various external partners
- Organized with an ability to multitask and effectively prioritize in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced, high growth environment
- Meticulous attention to detail to document activities, anticipate problems, plan schedules and monitor performance according to deadlines and priorities
