Tasks and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, oversight and execution of various benefit plan programs in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Lead the payroll department directly in the US and matrix support for Mexico and Canada to ensure compliance and process excellence.
- Lead the implementation of global initiatives for the region and work on regional support for HRBP’s in Total Rewards space.
- Provide counsel to executive, regional and divisional leadership for HR projects and initiatives. Drive regional strategies in alignment with global strategy. Manage annual processes for the region working with global team.
- Develop and further establish the HR Shared Services / Data management Organization to deliver end to end support for the entire employee lifecycle.
- Perform complex analysis, develop alternative recommendations, and formulate implementation strategies for job design and compensation and reward programs local to the region in partnership with global total rewards.
- Interact with internal and external legal counsel; ensure present and proposed programs comply with pay equity and fed/state/local regulations. Educate cross-functional teams and departments regarding issues and implications to ensure compliance.
- Manage contracts and relationships with benefit brokers and vendors and partner in negotiations with global total rewards and procurement.
- Oversee all Leave programs such as ST/LT Disability, FMLA, ADA and Workers Compensation.
- Audit pay practices to ensure compliance with federal and state legislation applicable to wage and hour laws and regulations and internal pay policies.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
- Typically 10 years of HR experience, with minimum of 5 years of experience in Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and HRIS
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of best HR practices and current legal and regulatory environment in US, Canada and Mexico
- Expert knowledge of the legal environment of compensation and benefits at National, State and Local levels in US. Experience in compliance with regulations, including FLSA, ACA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, & HIPAA
- Strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, analyze data and translate into recommendations and presentations
- Ability to implement large scale change and drive continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of leading practices and external trends in compensation, payroll, benefits and HRIS/ technology systems
- Hands on experience with complete benefit renewals and negotiation processes
- Experience with payroll in multi-country organizations with heavy amounts of business travel between countries.
- Demonstrated success in working in a large, fast-paced corporate environment
- Ability to work with a broad team in a matrix environment
- Excellent consultative skills and experience influencing business decisions
- Demonstrated learning agility - picking up information and assimilating effectively and efficiently
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills across cross-functional and external reporting relationships
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to present complex ideas to senior management and other audiences
- Demonstrated detail-orientation, multitasking and effective project management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills in order to resolve complex issues
- Highly motivated, energetic, resourceful and takes initiative
- Travel nationally and regionally up to 25%.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
