Title: Lab Coordinator
Location: Foster City, CA
Duration: 3 Months
Job Description:
- As a Lab Coordinator you will be focusing on the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of our engineering labs. You will be the first point of contact for engineering lab-related activities, supporting planning and procurement of materials for engineering team needs, managing inventory of hardware/tool/test assets, as well as establishing processes with Logistics teams for inventory control of components and materials.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently to lead engineering lab day-to-day operations including organization, lab space access and security, and safety protocols
- Drive communication around and adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality requirements as needed to maintain compliance with lab certifications and local requirements
- Organize the lab and shared tools, equipment, and inventory as required for the best performance
- Lab asset management duties including storing specialized development hardware, maintaining instrument calibrations, servicing laboratory equipment, and handling equipment and asset database
- Responsible for training engineers on equipment usage, lab practices, and safely working within the lab environment
- Cooperate with engineering teams for any lab equipment installation and operation
- Communicating lab related issues, and make recommendations for next steps in lab tools and infrastructure
- Assist with planning for expansion of the labs in new locations and spaces accounting for team growth budgeting
- Cooperating with external equipment, lab, and service vendors, as well as in-house resources and teams.
Qualifications:

Experience in laboratory or R&D environments working in relevant areas: testing, engineering, lab tech, safety staff, facilities management, training, project management, quality, process management, or similar roles. (3-6 years overall)
Bonus Qualifications:
- Automotive industry experience
- Experience with technical writing or training documentation
- Familiarity with 5S / Six Sigma practices
