Job Summary
Under the direction of a radiologist, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures utilizing gamma cameras and other related equipment. Prepares radio-pharmaceuticals and performs quality control procedures according to requirements and guidelines of the Colorado’s radiation regulations (State of Colorado Rules and Regulations Pertaining to Radiation Control, 6 CCR 1007-1). Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients through oral or IV injection routes, following verification of patient identification to prevent misuse of the isotope and guarantee patient safety. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology program approved by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT). Experience: 1 - 2 years of professional work experience in nuclear medicine is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate nuclear medicine equipment and related technology. Competency in the performance of nuclear medicine imaging studies. Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients. Demonstrated technical skill sets in the performance of nuclear medicine imaging studies. Effective interpersonal skill sets that lead to productive communications and collaborations. Competency in interpreting physician order requests for nuclear medicine imaging studies. Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances. Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures. ~Nuclear medicine technologist through the American Registry of Registered Technologists (ARRT) and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technologists Certification Board (NMTCB). Current certification in Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR.
