JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

Cal/OSHA is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join the Administrative Services Team to support the division's recruitment and personnel needs.
Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), in the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) serves as a personnel and recruitment liaison providing general analytical support to DOSH programs as it relates to the personnel and hiring needs of the division statewide. The incumbent provides consultation of recruitment and hiring activities performed, researches, analyzes, and applies personnel policies, rules, and regulations in support of DOSH’s personnel transactions to ensure compliance of all transactions and works closely with DOSH management and the DIR Human Resources unit (DIR HR). Additionally, the SSA routinely tracks and updates the status of the division's statewide vacancy rates, new hires, separated staff, and hiring packages. The incumbent also collaborates with DOSH, DIR Return to Work, and DIR Contracts and Procurement units to ensure division ergonomic equipment orders are promptly placed and delivered in a timely mannerThe incumbent works in a high-rise building with natural and artificial light and temperature controls and occupies a cubicle workspace. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary for email communication, accessing software platforms, conducting research, drafting policy and procedure documents, and other purposes.
