Summary:
The Training Supervisor must be a professional leader in organizing the training department in partnership with local staff. The Training Supervisor is responsible for the development of training courses appropriate to meet the needs of the Unaccompanied Minor’s program with staff from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The Training Supervisor is to promote a positive climate of learning and excellence where employees can enhance their professional growth.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the submission of monthly reports, quarterly report data, and end of year reports as necessary
- Provide and facilitate information as needed and/or monitoring activities
- Assist with the coordination of special educational
- Must assist in the evacuation of UAC as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences
- Travel as needed for trainings, conferences or to transport UAC to destinations within the U.S.
- Ensure that all employees follow state and federal training requirements
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Attend all organizational required trainings
- Create, identify, and attend workshops that will enhance professional skills in education, direct supervision, and other topics deemed appropriate by program director or designee
- Attend and become a certified instructor for First Aid/CPR, non-violent crisis intervention, verbal judo, the Residential Child and Youth Care Professional Curriculum and other certifications as deemed appropriate by the Program Director or designee
- Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to

Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent Public Speaking skills
- Ability to document processes and perform record keeping
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, tolerance, and kindness
- Ability to remain calm and composed under stress
- Ability to effectively work in, adapt to, and respond to diverse situations with or without intensive supervision
Education and Experience:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent, required
- A Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of Education, Social Service, or related field
- Must maintain any professional certifications
- 1-2 years of paid or unpaid experience working with youth
- Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write and speak
- Experience coaching, developing, and retaining employees and providing a collaborative and positive work environment
- Ability to work with all levels of staff and develop cross-functional relationship
- Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, a background check, and provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 after accepting a conditional offer of employment
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will have direct reports.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office and field environment.
Physical Demands
The employee may be required to stand, walk, twist, turn, bend, climb, lift, or kneel. Occasional lifting to 25 lbs. may occur.
Travel
May be required.
