What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Deployed Services?

The Inventory Specialist is assigned to the intake and property rooms. The Inventory Specialist will ensure all clients have the necessary clothing and personal hygiene items and will inventory item(s) and provide the clients with a receipt at the time of departure.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for filling inventory clothing and personal hygiene items requests made by clients
- Provide new arrivals a brand-new set of clothing and hygiene kit
- Responsible for taking custody of any contraband encountered during intake
- Must follow the appropriate procedure for the type of contraband encountered
- At the time of the client's departure from the facility, the Inventory Specialist will return the property to the client
- Maintain a filing system and be able to locate and retrieve information from files as directed
- Understand and adhere to the safety rules and requirements per the site
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to document processes and perform record keeping
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Prioritize and organize responsibilities and duties efficiently
- Work expertly either independently or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrate the ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Demonstrated ability to always maintain emotional control and professional composure
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Education and Experience:
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Experience with computerized and manual inventory systems required
- Spanish bilingual preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not have direct reports.
Work Environment
This position operates in a field work environment, seven days a week and holidays.
Physical Demands
The employee may be required to stand, walk, twist, turn, bend, climb, lift, or kneel. occasional lifting to 25lbs may occur.
Travel
May require travel.
