This position sits in our Marketing & Technology service based in London. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions like ad campaigns, augmented reality, and chatbots. Our clients include ASOS, Just Eat Takeaway, Twitch, TikTok, and The White Company.
JOB PURPOSE
We’re currently on the hunt for a social media and cultural trend-obsessed Lead Creative to create unmissable social content for a roster of the world’s biggest entertainment, travel and automotive brands.
Creatives at DEPT are responsible for coming up with exciting ideas that capture the audience's attention, inspire behaviour change and make a real difference to our clients’ businesses.
You’ll be confident leading a team, delegating tasks and leading and overseeing creative work. You’ll be really switched on to the latest in entertainment and culture. You’ll be an avid TikTok user and be able to deftly explain the difference between a Capcut, a duet and a stitch and what the latest trend on Reels is. You’re video first and confident in directing social video shoots, but also strong in copywriting and know how to create a laydown for a content calendar and explain the strategy behind it.
For this role, you’ll need to know the latest social trends, memes, viral sounds and breaking news before anyone else does – and understand how to spin those insights into compelling social-first content for a brand.
This role requires close collaboration and integration with all areas of the business (media, tech and data) and you will be expected to be able to frame your work in a solid strategy that’s grounded in insight and underpinned by a deep understanding of digital platforms and paid advertising formats.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of Lead Creative Planner is exciting, varied and constantly evolving. In this role, you will:
- Collaborate and lead creative projects, finding new ways to inspire audiences with ideas
- Lead a team of creatives, working into the Senior Lead Creative and Editorial Director to foster a stimulating environment, resulting in the happiness, retention and quality output of your team
- Play a key role in production, including planning, attending and directing social video shoots
- Put social insights at the heart of social content and campaigns to place brands at the heart of culture
- Juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Interpret data to optimise and improve monthly content
- Create laydowns and content calendars and manage multiple moving parts with attention to detail
- Present work to senior clients
- Help to grow our creative offering, making sure we’re taking advantage of the latest tech and most advanced approaches, as well as expanding into new platforms
- Participate in new business pitches
SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
- Experience of leading and inspiring a team
- Solid experience of social-first concepting, copywriting and production
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience on set, shooting video and stills content
- Deep knowledge of digital paid media, particularly paid social media formats
- Exposure to digital marketing campaigns that have increased sales
- Ability to work with senior clients
- Ability to remain focused under pressure and get stuff done on a tight deadline
- A love for learning and teaching new things
- Great interpersonal and listening skills
- High attention to detail
