Global medical device manufacturer, DeRoyal, is actively seeking a Plant Manager for its facility in LaFollette, TN. The ideal candidate will oversee and direct all activities within the manufacturing plant, specifically focusing on the processing of materials and production of medical devices. This role involves strategic leadership, operational excellence, and compliance with stringent quality and regulatory standards. The Manager will execute responsibilities both personally and through a dedicated team of subordinates, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing operations, enhance productivity, and meet organizational goals.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the plant, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence.

Operational Oversight:
  • Direct and coordinate all manufacturing activities, ensuring efficient and effective processing of materials and production of medical products.
  • Oversee daily operations, production schedules, and resource allocation to meet production targets and minimize downtime.

Quality and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems to guarantee product integrity and patient safety.

Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.

Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive cost reduction strategies while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Customer Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for the manufacturing plant.
  • Conduct plant tours and customer site visits to showcase production capabilities and quality standards.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for customers, addressing their specific needs and demonstrating the plant’s commitment to quality and innovation.

Supply Chain Coordination:
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of high-quality materials and components.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors to optimize supply chain efficiency.

Safety and Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure all plant operations adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.

Financial Management:
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the annual facility budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor operational costs and implement measures to improve cost efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on production, operational performance, and strategic initiatives for senior management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all manufacturing activities.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall objectives and success of the manufacturing plant.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to maintain the company’s competitive edge in medical manufacturing.

SUPERVISORY SKILLS:
Has responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing; hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or University and two to four years related experience and/or training; or Associates degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The employee must have ability to operate Ten-key, fax machine, office copier and computer. General knowledge of JDE System preferred. Require excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.). Professional attitude and appearance required. Require flexibility, dependability and willingness to take direction. Ability to motivate personnel and respond to inquiry or complaints required. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. Must have a positive attitude; the ability to be flexible with job duties and hours; and skill meeting deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds and educational levels required. Occasional travel domestically and offshore may be required.
