JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the shipment forecast, schedule and production status of each cell.
  • Identify bottlenecks and ensure that necessary ressources (labor, material, etc.) is applied to relieve area of concern.
  • Supervise, coach and train manufacturing employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the production process from the of released product to the floor through all production cells, inspection / testing including shipping.
  • Lead bi-weekly production meeting and managing production scheduling: schedule work for each cell / employee, prioritize and review plan daily.
  • Jump in and work actively on jobs on the floor where needed to support team with deadlines or problem solving.
  • Ensure the parts for each work cell are available and expedite material shortages working with supply chain.
  • Expedite critical jobs through fabrication, manufacturing, paint and final assembly.
  • Identifies and addresses the need for concentrated or additional labor effort in any bottleneck area.
  • Understand the importance of shifting and prioritizing certain tasks due the given production process (e.g. chassis to chemfilm while case is in paint).
  • Responsible for an efficient shop floor layout, production tools (5S), a clean and safe working environment as well as maintenance of calibration tools and machines.
  • Able to improve the pace/speed of work on the floor through improvements in the manufacturing process and coaching of the manufacturing employees
  • Understand the skill set of each worker for cross training in order to optimize the workforce at any given time.
  • Motivate manufacturing employees to follow changes/improvements or new procedures and support

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 -10 years' experience in Manufacturing, Mechnical Assembly, prefferably as Manufacturing supervisor or higher.
  • Operations know how required, preferrably working with aluminum or other sheet metals.
  • Hands-on experience working with Aluminum on the manufacturing floor in previous roles such as spot welding, bending/forming, sheering, welding, grinding as well as using standard drilling & rivet tools.
  • Requires a person with hands-on managerial experience and strong background in Planning and Manufacturing such as Final Assemly, Production Control, Mechnical.
  • Self-starter capabale to work on multiple priorities/projects, able to improvise or change on the fly from one job to the other while adhering to firm deadlines.
  • Find solution to manufacturing problems and make solid decisions.
  • Dependable with strong attention to detail and high quality standards.
  • Ability to read, understand and follows drawings, specifications, testing requirements and other written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication, leadership skills and training skills required.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Must be U.S. person, eligible to work with export controlled documents.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience with U.S. military (MIL-STD) standards is a plus.
