POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Deseret Book is looking for an individual who will create online video content for Deseret Book’s audiences in service of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will help us manage the ins-and-outs of creating visual media for online audiences by marrying natural talent with incredible follow-through and attention to detail. As our product video production coordinator, you'll use your creativity, video production technique, social media marketing skills, graphic design,

and production planning skills to make media that matters. And the best part: Your work will be seen by millions of people around the world.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In media production, no two days are the same! We’re looking for someone who can move adeptly from concept development to shooting and editing various styles of media. Here’s a little of what you can expect from day to day:

• Coordinate all aspects of small in-house shoots including managing equipment, shooting, and directing.
• Manage post-production on various types of projects including the creation of realistic production timelines, editing for content and visual flow, and implementing graphics as needed.
• Liaison between product marketing and social media teams.
• Develop and pitch new content marketing media pieces for specific audiences and products.

YOU ARE:

• A careful editor with an expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including premiere, after-effects and some basic knowledge of audio mixing software and color correction.
• A jack/jill- of- all trades who knows the basics of three-point lighting, can run an audio boom, and feels completely at home behind almost any DSLR camera.
• A problem-solver and who knows how to figure things out independently and loves learning new skills.
• A self-starter who sees needs and offers solutions before the needs become roadblocks.
• A collaborator who enjoys the creative synergy of teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 year of experience in professional filmmaking/videography
• BA in film production or equivalent in self-taught knowledge
• Some experience creating media for social media platforms is preferred
• Must provide a sample reel of previous work
