 Position Summary The HR Generalist is responsible for providing Human Resources Support for DESTACO’s Americas staff in Auburn Hills, MI and the Remote Handling plant located in Red Wing, MN.  The HR Generalist will also be responsible for managing the Healh and Wellness programs and administering the benefits for all DESTACO locations in the United States.  Additionally, s/he will have an opportunity to engage in special projects across the U.S.

 

The HR Generalist reports to the Director, HR Americas who is a member of DESTACO’s Amercias senior management team. The position is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan and will require 25% travel or more during peak seasons. The position requires communication across various levels and functions of the organization

  

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

 

·       Provide HR support to all functional areas within the Americas Auburn Hills, MI facility and Remote Handling business in Red Wing, MN including recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, employee engagement, and compliance with government policies and regulations.

·       In partnership with the HR Director for Americas, work to continuously improve HR processes in the areas of talent management, talent acquisition, assessment, and performance management.

·       Provides coaching and guidance to management in handling employee relations issues in an effective and consistent manner

·       Leverages continuous improvement tools to drive continued operational improvements and ensures engagement of the entire team through strong communication and clear direction.

·       Promote safety awareness with other key members of the plant team.  Promotes accident prevention and employee involvement in regard to a safe work environment.  Ensures employees have an understanding of the safety expectations of the organization

·       Administer benefits programs online including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, pension plans, vacation, disability, FMLA, workers compensation and employee assistance program.

·       Processes payroll data through ADP and ensures accurate recordkeeping and deductions of benefits.

·       Audits monthly billings from insurance providers and other systems

·       Partners with finance to processes all invoices for U.S. benefits.

·       Acts as Dover Wellness Champion to coordinate programs and activities at all U.S. locations. Programs include but are not limited to Annual Enrollment, Flu Shots, biometrics and other wellness programs.

·       Creates and distributes communications directed to employees  regarding company benefits, the wellness plan, 401(k) education and health related topics.

·       Assists employees and Human Resources team with questions and problems pertaining to benefit plans

·       Assists and coordinates open enrollment activities.  Duties may include creating communications and presentations, ordering printed materials, meetings, and testing of online benefit enrollment system.

·       Administers workers compensation and all related documentation and coordination with insurance carrier

Job Requirements:

 Experience:

·     Three to five (3-5) years of generalist human resources experience

·     Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in human resources in administering benefit plans

·     Demonstrated working knowledge of HR related employee law and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII, , EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, OSHA/Worker Compensation, COBRA, HIPAA, WARN, etc.

·     Prior successful experience with high performance work teams in a non-union facility desired

·     Experience with employee relations

·     Experience with Microsoft Office products and HRIS

·     Strong Microsoft Excel experience desired

·     Excellent communicator including facilitation, verbal, and written skills

·     Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·     Strong organizational skills, keeps timelines and meets deadlines

·     High attention to detail, ensures accuracy in completion of work

·     Strong business acumen

·     25% travel will be required

 

Education and Certification Qualifications

·     Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources or related field

 

Travel Requirements:

·       Ability to travel 25% or more during peak seasons
