Dewberry is currently seeking a Project Manager to work with our design-build project management team. The position will work predominantly in the Los Angeles, CA area. Responsibilities
The PM position will be responsible for managing design-build projects and staff. Responsibilities include business strategy, maintaining existing client relationships, managing regionally organized project managers and construction resources that deliver a broad range of projects from inception through construction. The PM will further be part of the business development and proposal team including assisting on the development of pursuit strategy, estimating and execution planning for projects. The typical projects include renovations and retrofits to community buildings, including upgrades to the buildings mechanical, electrical and controls systems, including building energy systems - building automation systems and controls. Projects may also include partial demolition, general carpentry, roofing and other general renovations associated with the improvements and renovations.
Projects may include work for Federal, local and private clients. Typical projects will involve complex solutions that benefit from Dewberry’s in-house engineering expertise and will typically be associated with larger renovations, repairs, retrofit projects. Typically, projects will be completed on occupied community, industrial and healthcare facilities.
With support from the enterprise, the successful candidate will be responsible for client satisfaction, project delivery, technical quality, and achieving the financial performance associated with each design-build project.
Required Skills & Required Experience
BS degree in construction management or engineering preferred with at least 5 years of construction and design-build experience required. Experience managing services through the design-build process from inception, design, construction and implementation preferred. General contracting license qualifiers are preferred but not required.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality assurance / quality control and risk management.
- Recognized technical expertise on complex projects in the industrial or healthcare market segments required.
- A minimum 5 years project and technical staff management experience and ability to work within a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client retention and relationship management skills.
- Strong commercial and technical skills that include estimating, contracts, scope, schedule and budget commitments.
- Experience successfully delivering results to a local, regional and national client base.
- Ability to travel is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
