Responsibilities
- Under the direction of a senior engineer, participate in all phases of project development from conceptual design to final documents. Elements include roadway geometry, roadside safety, grading, drainage design, pavement design, erosion and sediment control design, maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, and right-of-way plans.
- Coordinate with other departments and offices on interdisciplinary projects.
- Assist with the preparation of environmental permitting documents
- Participate in public meetings and information sessions as needed.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- EIT is required, PE registration in Massachusetts is a plus
- 4 years’ experience in transportation, highway and street design, or closely related engineering field.
- Experience with MassDOT design policies and procedures is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD required; Experience with Civil3D and MicroStation is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office Software
- Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment
- Local Experience is highly preferred.
- Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
