POSITION:
As a member of the development team, the Engineering Technician at Diakont is responsible for assembly of electromechanical assemblies such as robotic devices, inspection systems, actuators, and control systems, along with video, power, and signal cables. This person will build prototype and production assemblies per work instructions and specifications. The Engineering Technician role requires someone with impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to follow and execute documented assembly instructions and processes. We are looking for high-energy and organized professionals who are passionate about the work they do.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform hand soldering operations per IPC J-STD-001, or other special requirements
- Terminate wiring and cable assemblies per schematics and manufacturing quality standards
- Label parts and components with identifying information
- Measure, mix, and apply polymeric chemical adhesives to assemblies
- Occasionally perform electrical acceptance testing per procedures
- Maintain and complete assembly documentation for traceability and issues
- Prepare new assembly instructions when required
- Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate:
- Will possess 1 years of work experience in a engineering technician, technologist, or manufacturing/assembly role in a similar environment, or have an applicable educational background
- Will have some soldering experience, IPC J-STD-001 soldering certificate (or similar) is a plus
- With have experience or ability to prepare and apply chemicals such as paints, and two-part polymeric compounds
- Will have experience or ability to work with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies

This is an on-premise position in Carlsbad, CA.
