Senior Android Developer

About the role:

We are searching for a Full Stack Developer to join our team. Dibbs encourages and rewards innovation in the engineering department. Responsibilities:

• Work with software development teams and product managers to ideate software
  solutions
• Design client-side and server-side architecture
• Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Write effective APIs
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Create security and data protection settings
• Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
• Write technical documentation
• Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a hands-on developer, with 3 years on the Android platform
• Proven expertise in Java and Kotlin, with a mastery of patterns and frameworks used on the Android platform including data persistence, coroutines, Fragments, Map APIs, Firebase, and Google Play Services.
• Experience in Firebase database writing Google Google Cloud functions
• Experience writing apps that support a wide variety of Android devices
  
• Experience writing clients for RESTful web services
• Experience in Agile environments using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
• Experience with refactoring and phasing out legacy dependencies, including refactoring Java to Kotlin
• Sound knowledge on integrating Firebase Database, Push Notifications, Google Analytics.
• Worked closely with Business Analysts and QA team members to understand requirements, design, and ensure the system meets business and technical objectives.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Experience in developing android applications and deploying them into Google Play store.
• Experience in understanding the code quickly and fixing the bugs, code review, integration and unit testing, using various testing methodologies and tools like JUnit, Mokito, adb logcat.
• Experience with some of the following: RxJava and dagger2
• Knowledge of test automation technologies for Android including JUnit and Espresso
• Bachelor's degree (MIS or Computer Science emphasis) or equivalent experience
• Experience working with Payment Gateways and In app Purchase
• Experience developing consumer-grade Android native applications, with minimum three application published in the Google Play store
