The successful applicant will be actively involved in daily manufacturing and mechanical engineering support activities, requiring a thorough understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to resolve mechanical assembly, testing, and compliance issues.
- Create and comprehend mechanical Bill-of-Material (BOM) structures.
- Gather and incorporate feedback to capture quality, end-user, and market-based improvements.
- Design and provide architectural support for digital communications systems involving portable, mobile, and base station equipment.
- Work alongside the hardware team to offer design feedback based on manufacturing and performance requirements.
- Generate detailed drawings and final documentation packages in CAD, verify design integrity using tolerance studies, and update drawing revision levels as required for product releases.
- Perform all duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proficient with parametric design software (ProE/Creo preferred).
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Conduct inspections of first article samples of new parts and assemblies per inspection drawings.
- Collect, collate, and analyze data sets in a problem-solving environment.
- Operate equipment to measure and calibrate parts, and use machine shop equipment.
- Familiarity with 3D printers.
- Solid knowledge in parametric design.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain confidentiality and manage time effectively.
- Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Understanding of basic engineering concepts, including materials, fabrication methods, components, and development software.
- Familiarity with CAD modeling concepts and terminology.
- Work typically takes place in a normal office environment requiring sitting, walking, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Operate a PC and other office equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to handle/use metal working machines and small hand tools.
- Travel between floors and office buildings may be required.
- Exposure to environmental conditions such as noise, vibration, oils, solvents, and chemicals.
