Description:
NYU Langone Medical Center is looking for a Network Operations Engineer for its Mineola L.I location And Patchogue location. In this position, you will be working with a team of 6 engineers to deliver network support and engineering services for the NYU Langone Health enterprise network. This role will be first shift but needs to be flexible. This person will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of routers, switches and all data communications software and hardware supporting the local area, wide area and wireless network infrastructure. Maintain system documentation for the Enterprise Data Networks. Supports all network Moves, Adds and Changes for the Medical Center. Performs routine maintenance and code upgrades for network systems. Coordination of network changes in conjunction with Change Management policies. Also coordination with and other engineering and technical teams of NYU Langone. They will monitor systems alerts, performance and utilization reporting. They will provide support for project implementation and equipment installations and handle all network problem management, reporting and escalation.
This person must have:
Strong layer 1 and layer 2 networking troubleshooting experience
Requires in depth knowledge of Networking systems and protocols, Routing and Switching products, 802.11 Wireless technologies, TCP/IP protocols, End User Infrastructure Support, Network Management Tools, Cable Specifications, etc.
Must have thorough knowledge of IP sub netting, addressing, and Variable Length Subnet Masks to assist in problem determination and resolution.
Must have experience working with carriers and troubleshooting WAN circuits such as Gigabit Metro Ethernet, fiber optic services and Carrier Point to Point networks.. Experience with cisco series Wireless Access Points.
