Responsibilities:
- Mentor, lead, and coach the Testing Team
- Work with Product Development to understand consumer behavior and expectation to develop test methods that predict satisfaction
- Quickly gain a solid understanding of current industry test methods and evaluations to build upon
- Develop, adapt, validate, and document new concept and technologies test protocols
- Design and build automated test fixtures for all Shark product types
- Analyze and process test data for reporting to product teams and executive leadership
- Hands on involvement in testing and mentoring Test Engineers and Technicians
- Maintain test plans at the component and product levels
- Assess product specifications through testing
- BSME or similar engineering technical discipline major
- ***This is not a product software development role***
- 5 years of product test engineering experience
- Previous management experience, including developing others through improved performance-based promotions
- Experience designing and building mechanical systems
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, prior exposure to test procedures is a plus
- Ability to translate consumer use cases to repeatable test procedures
- Effectively communicate within the department and to senior leadership
- Excellent oral and written communication to create reports, write business correspondence, & develop procedures
- Change agent with energy, passion, and enthusiasm to drive change
- Analytical, problem solving, and root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities effectively
- Travel - 10% - 20%, after travel restrictions are lifted
- This role is not remote
- Hands-on with a 'Tinkerer/builder' mindset
- Ability to identify and apply multiple creative solution potentials to understand and resolve a problem
- Follows activities through to completion
- Willingness to learn while stepping outside of one's comfort zone
- Experience with any of the following: Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Python
