DigiPen currently hosts over 210 international students from 30 countries. The Program Coordinator for International Student Affairs is responsible for providing daily drop-in services, planning on-campus events and activities, and assisting with international initiatives in order to meet the enrollment goals of the institution. This position also serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and reports to the Assistant Vice President of International Student Affairs.
Position Title: Program Coordinator – International Student Affairs (ISA)

Responsibilities
- DSO Support and Advising: maintain walk-in advising in areas of immigration, employment, academic concerns, health insurance, and taxes; answer all inquiries on DSO email account; maintain SEVIS related functions - update and activate all student records in SEVIS each semester (Fall, Spring, Summer); maintain SEVIS alerts and filing for compliance
- CPT/OPT/STEM OPT: stay compliant with the regulations; process CPT requests, help process OPT reporting in SEVIS, assist with OPT related correspondence, update forms on website, file documents, keep track of employment data, maintain OPT/STEM OPT alerts in SEVIS, maintain OPT database
- Institutional Partnership Support: assist with inquiries from partner schools around the globe; provide assistance with communication on application/scholarship/transfer/visa inquiries; assist with outreach efforts, creating PPTs, shipping marketing materials, and processing expense reports; support the new student orientation & pre-departure orientation for partner schools as needed
- Programming: participate in New Student Orientation (NSO) committee, organize International Student Orientation (Fall & Spring); plan monthly on-campus international events, activities and workshops; support the creation and mentoring of International Club; attend committee meetings as needed to represent ISA
- Outreach: attend weekly marketing meetings as needed, assist with creating documents and forms, help research and draft monthly e-newsletters for int’l agencies and schools, keep ISA pages on website up to date; attend international transfer fairs as needed
- Student Engagement: Oversee one area of Student Engagement including: Student Clubs, Associated Students DigiPen Advisor (student government), student Discord Management, Communication Coordinator, Parent Communication, or other area; duties will vary depending on engagement area; this may include supervising and training student staff, budget management, and overall coordination of area
- Summer Overseas Immersion Programs (OIP) from Singapore: help issue I-20s, activate I-20s in SEVIS, plan and organize OIP orientation, plan and organize weekly programming
- Other duties as assigned: assist the AVP as needed for various projects and paperwork; supervise PT student employees as needed
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must meet the Department of Homeland Security's requirements for a Designated School Official (Legal resident alien or U.S. Citizen)
- Demonstrated professional experience working with international students in higher education for minimum 1 year or currently serve as a DSO
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams or Zoom, SEVIS
- Excellent customer service skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, attention to detail and good follow through
- Demonstrated intercultural competency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with F1 international students in higher education
- Experience living and/or working abroad and fluency in a language other than English
Other:
- This position does not supervise other staff members.
- This is a full time, exempt position. This is a hybrid position and will interact with students, parents, visitors in person and requires working on-campus min. 2 times/week as of fall 2022 (subject to change).
- The tentative start date for this role is January 3, 2023. Some weekend and evening hours may be required.

$55,000 USD/year
