Machine Operator - 2nd Shift Press Operator

The Press Operator - 2nd Shift is responsible for the printing of a variety of print jobs, operating different types of press machines (Mitsubishi and Komori). Press Operators prepare “make ready” batches for every print job that is run. During each run, the Press Operator will ensure that the image color and alignment stay persistent to meet the quality expectations.

2nd Shift: M-F, 2:30pm - 11pm

What You'll Do:

•    Read job orders from IMS system to determine job priorities, specifications, and to plan out workload for the day.
•    Clean and setup the press machine according to the designated print job.
•    Create a make ready batch for each run processed on the press machine.
•    Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
•    Maintain records such as daily production records using specified forms and entering finished process to show in IMS software time and date of completion.
•    Communicate with coworkers and management team to insure all duties assigned are completed.
•    Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
•    Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
•    Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
•    Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

What We Need from You:

•    At least 4 years of experience in printing and production process
•    Understand the imaging layouts and quality of printed jobs.
•    Attention to detail.
•    Ability to read, write, speak & understand English.
•    Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
•    Ability to use correct hand/power tools and safe use of them.
•    Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and recognize safety issues & corrective actions.
•    Combination of related education and experience in the general printing process

Physical Activity

•    Able to lift up to 40 lbs. (50% of time) and stand for 8 hours.
•    Walking and moving around work area (50% of the time).

Working Conditions

•    Warehouse Manufacturing environment; Noise level higher than normal.
•    Temperature may vary. Suggested appropriate clothing for individual comfort.
