Job purpose
We are looking for experienced technicians that will be responsible for the installations of the household and buildings equipment, material, and accessories, do on-site troubleshooting, and coordinate with the NOC, Engineering Department and Project Management Office.
Duties and responsibilities
- Structured cabling installation (cat6 and fiber)
- Rack buildout
- Perform house and/or rooftop installation equipment and accessories
- Knowledge to use standard equipment to test and troubleshoot CatX and Fiber cables
- Line of Sight verification and installations of CPE’s and Routers
- 1st and 2nd level support in the configuration of network equipment for deployment
- Ability to Climb on up to a 40’ ladder and able to do some work from elevated surfaces
- Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Build/write technical instructions, methods of procedures, and reports when required or requested.
- Leave customer site cleaned up from installation
- Use PowerCode, UNMS, Google Earth or other provided software tool
- Handle trouble tickets, engage in fault and outage handling, take the recovery role in all incidents, troubleshooting, technical analysis, and root cause investigation in order to resolve faults.
- Interact and collaborate with other units such as NOC, Customer Support, Engineering, Sales, PMO.
- Available on-call 24x7 to support customer concerns and outages
- Be able to commute to Customer sites on needed basis for local support activities
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- 2 years’ experience in structured cabling
- Proven track record of cat6 deployment
- Proven track record of fiber deployment (not mandatory)
- Ability to learn quickly
- Familiar with industry tools and equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to work well with customers
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Analytical skills, continuous drive for improvement and progress.
- Proven track record of having a logical approach to solving problems.
- Ability to meet deadlines, complete important time sensitive tasks.
- Valid Driver License and clean driving record
Preferred Requirements (not mandatory)
- Ability to clearly relay technical knowledge to both technical and non-technical people, in writing and verbally.
- Knowledge of Managed Service telecom operations practice.
- Electrician certification to work with electrical devices or similar.
Working conditions
DigitalC operates within a vibrant and diverse co-working space in the heart of Cleveland’s Midtown area – and itself is a diverse and mission-dedicated set of individuals. The individual hired must be able to work in an open office environment. There are limited opportunities for privacy although the organization provides flexibility to work remotely on an agreed-upon basis. Attention to detail and accuracy in this environment is essential. Parking is available to all employees.
