Responsibilities
This position will be remote within the Southern California region, with regular travel to Ventura, Inland Empire, and Northridge, and quarterly travel to Bakersfield and Tehachapi.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assessing, designing, facilitating, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for Dignity Health Medical Foundation clinical staff (medical assistants and nursing staff), with the goal of improving job knowledge, enhancing skills, and ensuring that clinical staff are able to provide excellent support for physicians and patients. The position is responsible for New Employee Orientation of clinical staff, as well as ongoing education, one on one coaching and development as well as program and process development for clinical personnel. The Clinical Educator is responsible for the day-to-day clinical leadership to the non-physician clinical staff, along with leadership and oversight of training and development of supervisors, leads, and employees across the organization. Position ensures clinical services are effective, meets all regulatory requirements, and provides patients with quality health care utilizing appropriate staff resources.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in a physician practice setting.
- Content expertise in the type of work performed in a multi-specialty group practice, ambulatory setting. Experience in the development and presentation of training courses. Experience coaching others and identifying learning needs.
- Current CA Licensed Vocational Nurse required.
- Current BLS through American Heart Association.
- Special Skills:
Demonstrated skill in and understanding of physician practice operations and clinical processes in an outpatient setting. Knowledge of instructional skills and adult learning theory, educational techniques and methodologies. Ability to formulate learning goals and objectives consistent with clinic practices. Strong computer skills and ability to work with standard office equipment. Excellent communication skills including the ability to convey difficult and/or sensitive information in a constructive manner to peers, staff and leadership. Ability to present information in a clear and concise format to various audience levels in classroom and individual settings. Ability to effectively problem solve routine and complex issues. Critical thinking ability to objectively evaluate processes, make recommendations for improvements, and implement those improvements. Ability to lead others through process change, development initiatives, and day to day activities. Sets a personal example by adhering to policies and procedures and by professional demeanor. Ability to assess training needs and instructional objectives using a variety of methods including interviews, focus groups, and questionnaires. Language Skills: Fluent English required. Must be able to speak clearly and have the ability to hear students in a one on one and classroom setting.

- I.V. certification preferred.
