Job Summary:
The Director of Guidance and Admissions is an integral member of the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School Administrative Team and contributes to the development and continuity of an effective and harmonious team. The Director of Guidance and Admissions establishes and provides effective management of all phases of guidance, health services and student services and records (except SPED), admissions, and placement processes. The Director of Guidance and Admissions will provide direction and leadership to all programs in the health and guidance area. This will include training of staff; supervision of all segments of the programs; evaluation; dissemination; community integration; agency integration; implementation of physical necessities; and orderly conducting of essential business activities.
Qualifications:
Education / Formal Training: Candidate shall have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a Master's degree from an accredited college or university one of which must have a maior field of concentration in education. |
Certification / License: Candidate shall have a Massachusetts secondary level teaching and/or guidance license and an administrative license as a Director of Guidance and/or a Director of Pupil Personnel Services issued pursuant to M.G.L. c. 71, s. 38G;. |
Knowledge and Skills: Candidates shall have a minimum of five years full time administrative, supervisory, counseling, or instructional experience or a combination thereof in a school setting preferably in the area of vocational technical or Vocational education. Candidates shall have demonstrated skills that address the Professional Standards for Administrators as outlined by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. |
