We collaborate and partner with community programs enabling us to provide real world learning projects using Robotics and G-STEM (God, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Position Summary:

The ideal candidate must be willing to commit to our mission and culture. The candidate must provide Christ-centered education, in a respectful and inspiring way. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the lead preschool teacher, other teachers and be under the guidance of our Program Director and School Principal. In addition, the candidate must attend all PTO, Professional Development, Parent Teacher Conferences, and other school driven events/meetings as directed by the school administrator.

Qualifications:
- Completion of required Michigan Child Care Background Check Consent and Disclosure with favorable results.
- Complete State Live Scan Fingerprinting prior to hire.
- Have a high School diploma or GED
- Provide a negative TB test result prior to hire.
- Complete Virtus Training prior to start date.
- Help teacher maintain 100% safe accountability for each child in class and only release students to legal parents and guardians.
- Assist teacher to execute a learning curriculum and lesson plans that will cognitively engage all students.
- Attend virtual lessons to students/parents, teacher, in the event of school closures related to COVID-19 or prolonged-hazardous weather conditions.
- Follow all Covid Protocol set by Administration.
- Hold or be able to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification prior to start.
- If hired, candidate will be required to complete continued training in Early Childhood Care & Education.
Assist/help assigned Preschool Teacher with the following:
- Help create a calm, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
- Support children in their social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual growth.
- Assist children as they discover literacy and math skills and encourage learning to help them feel successful in their school experience.
- Develop, positive, open lines of communication with families and school staff.
- Build trusting relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Be able to work outside during all seasons in Alpena, MI.
- Supervise, with teacher, guest teachers and volunteers in the classroom.
- Respect the confidentiality of ASCS families and staff.
- Attend continuing education trainings to complete required hours.
- Be responsible for basic bodily care tasks for young children.
- Help teacher plan teacher-parent orientations and conferences for families and attend same events.
- Organize program activities and field trips.
- Be able to keep accurate daily records for each child in their care.
- Assist in ensuring classrooms are cleaned throughout the day (wiping down surfaces, cleaning toys, sweeping, and vacuuming when needed).
- Help teach students through singing, playing, talking, and reading throughout the day.
- Help manage appropriate play, rest, and classroom activities for all preschool children under their care.
- Be able to assess children’s growth and development in collaboration with assigned lead teacher.
- Other tasks assigned as needed.
