Direct Counsel is seeking a talented and dedicated Intellectual Property Associate to join an excellent firm in their Health Care & Life Sciences practice. This position is available in the firm’s Columbus, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Portland, or Princeton office.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patent prosecution within the life sciences industry
- Handle technology transactions including collaborations, licensing, outsourcing, and joint venture agreements
- Evaluate and manage patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios
- Perform IP due diligence for corporate transactions
- Manage and negotiate strategic commercial agreements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in patent prosecution within the life sciences industry
- Familiarity with technology transactions (collaborations, licensing, outsourcing, and joint ventures)
- Experience in evaluating and managing IP portfolios and performing IP due diligence is preferred
- Juris Doctorate degree required
- Admission to the USPTO required
- Admission to practice law in Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Oregon, or New Jersey is mandatory
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent research and writing skills
