Director of Software Engineering

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Lead the team responsible for developing the DIRECTV Stream mobile and TV unified app for Apple, Amazon, Android, Web and Samsung devices
• Support organizational objectives by defining strategy and setting goals
• Mentor and coach software developer leads
• Define team structure and maintain technical vision/roadmap
• Develop, approve and prioritize the technical feature backlog
• Interact with leadership regarding escalations and provide status to leadership and stakeholders
• Oversee the team velocity and quality of the work
• Drive toward a culture of high quality engineering practices, continuous learning and collaboration
• Identify opportunities to innovate and be more efficient
• Interact with Product Management to define product features and priorities
• Define application release scope and interact with Release Management team for release timelines
• Ensure continuous improvement of system and client specific key performance indicators
• Provide technical leadership in end-to-end design, development and testing for unified clients
• Provide high level effort estimates for new initiatives
• Cultivate expertise in frontend technologies and influence technical directions to the team

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Ability to independently handle multiple priorities and thrive in fast-pace environment
• Proven success leading large cross-functional teams and managing various enterprise priorities
• Ability to champion ideas and execute in an expedited timeframe
• Expertise in front-end technologies, including React Native, React JS and Typescript/JavaScript
• Expertise in Agile based development management
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
