What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Discovery Behavioral Health?
The primary focus of this position is to ensure that the facility is cleaned in accordance with facility guidelines. This position will have primary responsibility for cleaning the Detox Unit and assigned areas in the Main Building.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Prior training and/or work experience in similar position (preferred).
- Demonstrates ability to deal tactfully with others.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Maintains and mops floor areas, vacuums and spot-cleans carpets, arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned areas.
- Empties trash (infectious and non-infectious waste), dusts, and wipes all horizontal and vertical ledges, cleans walls, windows, and cleans bathrooms.
- Operates various types of cleaning equipment (i.e., buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, etc.).
- May climb ladder or reach high areas for cleaning purposes.
- Remove soiled linens from patient beds, sanitizes bed before applying clean linens and transports soiled linens to soiled holding area.
