Discovery Connections has been helping families heal for over 25 years. Join our team and be a part of their life-changing journey. Help adolescents and their families through Discovery Connection's evidence-based, relationship-centered approach. Discovery Connections is a licensed, accredited residential treatment center for teen boys (13-17) struggling with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. We are looking for a passionate, caring, creative individual to help our students as a Youth Mentor.
Often the relationships formed with mentors are the most meaningful to our students and central to deep and lasting change. As a Youth Mentor, you will be there to help our students process their emotions in the moment and offer support during challenges, whether that be the physical challenge of a ropes course or practicing mindfulness to help self-regulate. You will help create a safe and supervised environment for our students to heal and grow in. You will gain experience in the behavioral and mental health fields and in working with teenagers. With your guidance, our students understand who they really are and what they are capable of achieving.
Part of being a Youth Mentor is sharing your passions and skills through serving as a club adviser. Club themes have included dancing, art, yoga, drama, music, and film. Experiential relationship therapy is the foundation for every Discovery Connections experience. Doing creates an opportunity for understanding. Sharing the experience is the key to relationship building. Relationships help inspire students to reach higher. That reaching process opens the door to identity.
Often the relationships formed with mentors are the most meaningful to our students and central to deep and lasting change. Our students come to understand who they really are and what they are capable of achieving through your care and guidance.
Serve families. Help teenagers heal & grow. Be a Youth Mentor.
