Job Overview:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting and ensuring Discovery services are meeting established standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements and utilizes companies’ safety management system, quality control program and company policies and procedures in conjunction with the Quality Manager
- Perform/monitor projects’ quality related activities
- Record/report all issues that does not meet the company standards, quality plan, including process, products, materials, and equipment
- Make daily inspections of the work in progress across disciplines and maintain very accurate records of these inspections
- Witness testing as required by the contract and the job specifications
- Discuss results and findings with management and recommend any required corrective actions
- Ensure that the owners’ expectations are met and exceeded
- Able to interpret schematics and other drawings that detail solar specifications
- Verify corrective actions that have been taken when discrepancies have been identified and must also submit a report on the methods and procedures that were used to correct identified problems
- Ability to work efficiently and safely under pressure and time constraints
- Coordinate all receipt inspections and relevant documentations to site Quality Manager
- Coordinate all quality activities with the site Quality Manager
- Ensure all documentation, is stored properly upon the completion of the inspections
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail to effectively organize multiple project tasks
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills
- Situational awareness
- General construction and ladder work
- Experience in Solar – Pile installation, racking and module installation
- Minimum 3-5 years Mechanical QA/QC solar farm field experience
- Teamwork orientation
- OSHA 10 certification
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be knowledgeable in the ANSI, ASME specifications which are directly associated with the type of work and tests that are being conducted.
- Must be qualified through prior experience (minimum 3-5 yrs.) in the Quality Control area designated.
Physical Requirements:
- Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Have the ability to move safely over uneven terrain
- Walking, standing, reaching, and bending at odd angles
- Using tools in a repetitive motion for long periods of time
- The ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
